When you daydream about a Caribbean vacation ... what do you envision? Warm breezes ... swaying palm trees ... blue water ... and an ice cold tasty beverage! Try this unique twist on a mojito ... instead of rum and mint include brown sugar, fresh crushed basil leaves and tequila ... and you have a Tequilajito.
If heaven on earth existed ... in my mouth ... it would be this. The land of milk and honey. Sinfully sweet and smelling of roses.
The Amalfi Coast ... I could argue that it's not the scenery that takes your breath away, but the insane way that Italians drive while ignoring any form of lane boundaries and taking cliff-side curves at high speeds. So it's no wonder they serve limoncello in Sorrento ... at the end of the ride to get there you need a little something hard and sweet to calm your nerves. And I'm not talking about Italian men. Well, maybe. Just a little.

Fresh, made-from-scratch Egg SNAFU. Sounds hoity toity and French, doesn't it? Actually, it's a military acronym for my-breakfast-was-all-messed-up. Or, more accurately, Situation Normal: All Fouled (eh ehm) Up. SNAFU has a cousin named FUBAR. He was in the kitchen that morning too. I'll just let you google what he stands for. Love our United States Military acronyms. Love them. Just not at my breakfast table.

At the end of Thanksgiving weekend, I hold onto the last little bits of fall before the holidays kick in. It always seems that Christmas comes too early. Even though Winter doesn't "officially" begin until December 21st ... snowflakes already grace store windows as garland. So, in my last little ode to fall, I went on [...]

Coffee isn't just a beverage. It's an experience. The nutty smell of fresh grounds, the bubbling sound of it percolating in a coffee pot, and that first sip.

You are going to be SHOCKED at how easy it is to make roasted red peppers. I always thought it was some mysterious chef-y thing ... but it is really quite simple. They'd be great for an evening bbq ... but I'm pre-making them here for a breakfast recipe. You'll need only two things ... red peppers [...]
